TEACHING EXPERIENCE
QUATITATIVE METHODS
In this course, undergraduate students explore the foundational principles of quantitative methods and uncover the impact of statistical literacy in everyday life. Starting with an introduction to statistical thinking, students learn to use and interpret descriptive and inferential statistics to make sense of the variability in human emotions, health, and behavior. A goal of this course is to build an understanding of statistical methods so that students may go forth as critical scientific thinkers in psychology. Syllabus
SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY
In this course, undergraduate students explore main topic in Social Psychology, learning through active discussion and activities how our social world shapes us and how we influence our social world. A secondary objective of this course is to become familiar with the scientific method, better understanding how psychologists research these topics. Syllabus
HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY
This course is designed to give undergraduate students an overview of the field of Health Psychology. Through the lens of the biopsychosocial model (or mind-body model), students should better understand the underlying influences of chronic illness and health behaviors after taking this course. Syllabus
INFANT & CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT LAB
This psychology laboratory course combines writing, research methods, and statistics for social sciences to examine topics in infant and child development. Undergraduate students learn essential skills in psychology, including reading empirical articles, conducting observations, running statistical analyses, and writing brief research reports. Syllabus
ONLINE & HYBRID TEACHING
The goal of this graduate-level hybrid course is to equip teaching assistants with the basic knowledge and skills to design and teach an online or hybrid course. Students investigate what makes teaching online different than teaching in-person and how to navigate some of the common challenges and technological opportunities in this format. Syllabus
DESIGNING YOUR OWN COURSE
The objective of this graduate-level virtual synchronous course is to walk novice teachers through the steps of backward designing their own course. Students begin to plan a course and generate elements of their course syllabus. Syllabus
TEACHING - FOCUSED WORKSHOPS
In addition to the undergraduate- and graduate-level courses above, I have also led many workshops for graduate teaching assistants and faculty members. Below are a sampling of the workshops I have designed and facilitated to improve instruction.
